Bordeaux a décroché samedi la troisième place du championnat de France de football, à la faveur de sa victoire sur 1-0 sur l'AC Ajaccio. Les Girondins sont désormais à deux points de Lyon, leader du classement et qui se déplace à Nantes dimanche, et à un point du Paris Saint-Germain qui n'a pu faire mieux que le match nul au Mans, lequel tombe de la troisième à la sixième place. Il n'a fallu qu'une demi-heure à Bordeaux pour s'adjuger la victoire grâce au pied de son buteur Jean-Claude Darcheville, arrivé au club en 2002. Le Guyannais a marqué son premier but de la saison - le 47e de sa carrière en Ligue 1 - en plaçant une tête sur un centre de David Jemmali. "Cette victoire était importante car on restait sur quatre matches nuls. C'était des matches nuls contre de gros clubs, comme Lyon et Rennes, mais cela restait des matches nuls", a déclaré Jemmali.

Le Paris Saint-Germain a conservé sa deuxième place malgré le nul ramené du Mans. Mais pour Laurent Fournier, l'entraîneur du club de la capitale, ce résultat paraissait satisfaisant. "C'est un résultat logique. Le Mans nous a offert une bonne opposition. On obtient l'essentiel", a déclaré le technicien parisien. Auxerre est désormais quatrième grâce à sa convaincante victoire 3-0 sur Sochaux, désormais en position de relégation. Peguy Luyindula a ouvert le score dès la 19e minute, imité avant la pause par Thomas Kahlenberg (41e). Benoît Cheyrou parachevait l'oeuvre de l'AJA en inscrivant un troisième but à la 52e minute.

Lille, cinquième, s'est imposé face à Saint-Etienne 2-0, avec un but dans chaque mi-temps. Matt Moussilou a inscrit le premier à la 25e et Hicham Aboucherouane le second à la 65e. Marseille est remonté à la 12e place du classement grâce à sa victoire 3-1, face à Metz, qui reste lanterne rouge du classement. Les Messins avaient pourtant ouvert le score à la 11e minute par Sébastien Renouard, mais l'OM réagissait par Frédéric Déhu qui égalisait à la 25e. C'est en deuxième période que Marseille prennait les rênes de la rencontre avec un but de Franck Ribéry deux minutes après la reprise, puis de Mamadou Niang à la 68e.

Strasbourg s'est fait étriller 4-2 à domicile par Toulouse, après un début de match époustouflant où trois buts étaient inscrits en sept minutes. Laurent Battles avait ouvert les hostilités en marquant pour Toulouse à la deuxième minute. Karim Haggui remettait les deux équipes à égalité trois minutes plus tard, mais Daniel Moreira redonnait l'avantage au TFC. Haggui égalisait à cinq minutes de la fin de la première période mais dans la dernier demi-heure, Nicolas Dieuze puis Santos donnaient un avantage définitif à Toulouse, 14e devant Monaco.

Plus tôt dans l'après-midi, Monaco n'a pas réussi a remporter son premier match à domicile de la saison lors du derby azuréen qui l'opposait à Nice. Les deux équipes se sont séparées sur le score de 0-0. "Ca a été un match moyen, difficile pour nous. On le savait, c'est souvent comme cela dans les derbys. Ce soir, l'important était de ne pas prendre de risques", a dit Jean Petit, l'entraîneur intérimaire de Monaco.

Lton confirme sa suprématie sur la ligue 1 en s'imposant à Nantes 1-0, grâce à un but du brésilien Fred. Lens et rennes se sont neutralisés 0-0 en fin de soirée.
